Hi Naomi, you continue your growth spurt this week. Even your head circumference will grow by half an inch, because of your amazing brain development. You could grow to 17-20 inches and could weigh 4.5 pounds. Your skeleton is hardening and you drink up to a pint of amniotic fluid a day. Antibodies are now being passed from me to you as you develop your own immune system. We love you very much.
I miss sleep. And wine. And doing much of anything without winding myself or getting dizzy. This is a lot harder this time than it was with Kathryn. I don't know if it's my body or my age difference or something else, but more than likely Naomi will be the last child I carry, and Jared agrees. We have propped the door of our hearts open towards adoption, but will not take steps towards that until we hear clearly from God. It could be years, it could be never.
We got two tenths of an inch of ice here on Friday. The power blinked out a few times, but always came back. School and work were cancelled, and we've all been home yesterday and today. Church and small group are cancelled tomorrow and I won't be surprised if school and work are delayed on Monday. Kathryn and I have been doing a lot of baking, puzzles, painting and reading books. We took time to finish putting the decals on Naomi's walls, and continued to sort clothes and toys. Kathryn would pick up baby toys and books and declare them hers. :) I did order her a doll that will be "from Naomi" when she arrives. I've heard from other parents that it helps for the baby to "bring a gift" for the older sibling.
