Week 29!

Naomi, welcome to week 29!  Your tooth buds are forming and your adrenal gland is producing androgen and estrogen.  Your skin is still smoothing out, because your body is filling itself out with fat.  You probably weigh 2.5 to almost 3 pounds, and could be 15-17 inches long.  You still kick and punch and stretch a lot.  And your eyes can distinguish between sunlight and artificial light as it comes through the uterine wall.  Your lungs and brain continue to develop to get you ready for the outside world.  We love you very much.

I'm doing okay still.  Not sleeping well, uncomfortable, achy pains, varicose/spider veins, a little acid reflux, exhaustion, staying out of breath.  I'm assuming that's normal for 28 weeks....trying not to focus on the bad stuff.  I can still work...more or less keep the house up....I've had good blood pressure, sugar levels and non-existent weight gain so far.  I can still do stuff with Kathryn and Jared.
Christmas is over and it'll be a new year the next time I update!  The holiday went fairly well.  We met with Anna Cole, our doula, today.  We discussed birth plan choices and how to make my preferences known to my providers.  And we talked a little about the start of labor, when to call her and when it might be time to go to the hospital.  Can't believe we're at this point already.

I have another appointment tomorrow, and will get tested for gestational diabetes.  Hoping for good news.  We've got a lot to do, but hopefully after another 2 weeks Jared and I will be able to start decorating Naomi's nursery!
