Week 23

Naomi, yesterday was 22 full weeks!  Your skin is saggy but will start filling out very soon with fat deposits.  Your skin is red from the veins and arteries running below it.  Your skin is also thickening, and your lungs are maturing.  If you were born now you'd have a 0-10% chance of survival, so we certainly want you to stay in!  At 24 full weeks that will skyrocket to 70%, but of course we still want you to stay in as long as you need it.  You're somewhere between 8 and 11 inches long and just over a pound.  You will double your weight in the next 4 weeks.  We love you very much.

I feel huge, heavy and cumbersome.  I'm just 22 full weeks, and haven't gained any weight, but it feels so hard to move around.  To turn over in bed, reposition on the couch, get in the car, etc.  It makes me feel frustrated and grumpy.  Naomi seems to roll and roll, and it makes me feel nauseous.  My legs look like they are covered in bruises and lumps, due to spider and varicose veins.

Jared's and Thomas's birthdays were this week, we celebrated with the Reeves this week and will celebrate with the Boyds next week.  From here through Christmas, we're tremendously busy.  I certainly hope I can keep up.
