Naomi, you're 20 full weeks today! Could be halfway, a little more, a little less. This week you'll grow to about 11-12 oz and about 7-8.5 inches long, head to foot. Your taste buds will start to develop, so you'll be able to taste the different foods I eat as you swallow the amniotic fluid. You are gaining fat and your organs are maturing. Buds for permanent teeth are starting to form. You stretch out often and punch out too. This week Jared could feel you moving when he laid his head on my stomach. We went to the anatomy scan on Wednesday, and Kathryn came too. Everything looks great, they said. Good weight, heartbeat, measurements--right on schedule. We loved seeing you! We love you very much.
I am doing okay this week. I had a sinus infection and just finished my medicine, but don't feel all well. Sometimes Naomi moves so much I feel nauseous. And when I turn during sleep, I wake myself up. The round ligmament pain is still there, but I don't have the sciatic nerve pain as much, or the acid reflux.
Today is Halloween and we're planning to take Kathryn trick-or-treating in the neighborhood for the first time. It's also daylight savings end, so the clocks go back tonight. No extra sleep for us, since we have a toddler. I think we finally nailed down a date for the gender reveal, too. I should be either November 21st or December 1st.
