Week 15 starts now!

Amazingly, I'm already 14 full weeks!  This week has been exciting.  At work on Wednesday, I got a call from the nurse at our OB office.  We have <0.05 chance of having a baby with one of the three trisomies they tested for (Downs' syndrome, etc).  I asked the nurse to call back and leave a voicemail with the gender result.  Then I went home and Jared and I listened to it together.  The nurse said, "Congratulations, you're having a girl!"  And we both gasped and smiled.  I am very thankful, and excited, and happy!  Jared is happy, too, but did wonder if maybe the blood test could've been wrong.  They are, in fact, very accurate. ;)  We had already decided on a girl name, but were really struggling with a boy name.  So we know that this child is our Naomi Rose Lee Reeves.  Naomi is a name my mom's mom's mom loved and always wanted to use for a child or grandchild, but was never able to.  Lee was my dad's mom's middle name.  And Rose is there because it's a pretty filler, because Naomi Lee Reeves has too much EEEEEEEEE in it.  Jared wants to keep the gender and name secret for the entire pregnancy.  I told him we would tell family and friends at six months. but I am telling online friends, neighbors and coworkers now.  For the very few overlaps, I've cautioned not to say anything.
So, Naomi, you're 14 full weeks along now!  You measure about 4 inches long and weigh about 2.5 oz.  You can move amniotic fluid through your nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps your lungs get strong.  You can move all your joints and limbs, and your legs are getting longer than your arms now.  You can sense light through your fused eyelids and your taste buds are forming!  Your bones are starting to harden and your eyebrows and head hair are growing.  We love you very much.

I have been just slightly less tired, and just slightly less nauseous.  I have sciatic nerve pain, which I didn't have with Kathryn.  I also have varicose veins, which I avoided with Kathryn.  And the round ligament pain has started a lot earlier.  I have felt something like popcorn popping in my abdomen--most likely it is Naomi kicking and turning over.  I am looking pregnant now!
