Clover, it's the last week of the first trimester. Your head is much bigger than your body, but it's going to be your body's turn to catch up now. Your fingers now have prints. Your skin is still translucent, but your body is covered in lanugo, a soft, fine hair. Your vocal cords and arm and leg bones are developing! You are about 3 inches long and weigh 1 ounce. We love you very much.
I am waiting for my hypothyroid meds to kick in and give me some energy. I am still so fatigued. I also get faint easily. And I have started having sciatic nerve pain. Sometimes I can't walk because it hurts so bad. However, I am feeling less nauseous than I used to....so...that's something?
I went to my regular appointment this past Thursday. Our OB did an ultrasound and Clover was moving around a little. Growth and heartbeat were good. I had the Harmony blood testing done, so we should get results about genetics and gender, maybe this Friday. Possibly the following week.
We are thinking we will keep the gender to ourselves until about 6 months. Jared wanted to keep it secret the whole time. If we were finding out like "normal" with an anatomy scan, we'd find out about 5 months. So 6 months isn't too bad.
So, maybe by my next entry, we will know if Clover is a girl or a boy!
